The Boots No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror was designed to make applying makeup convenient and of professional quality in the comfort of your own home! I’ve been using mine for several years now and I couldn’t be without it. Today I’m sharing with you why I love it and what made me buy it in the first place.

Boots No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror

The Boots No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror has never ceased to be a popular essential for a beauty lover’s makeup table. It’s minimal, yet stylish, and is guaranteed to uplevel the appearance of any dressing table. That said, the Boots illuminated mirror does more than just look good. It was created for everyday consumers in need of better lighting for applying their makeup at an affordable price. The Boots illuminated makeup mirror is one of the best quality and most affordable on the market, which is why it’s so popular. I’ve tested a few illuminated makeup mirrors from high-street brands and the lighting tends to have an odd glow and feels unnatural, which kind of defeats the point of buying a light-up mirror in the first place. Boots’ illuminated mirror provides extremely authentic lighting and what’s more, is that you have full control over how much light you need.

I purchased the No7 Illuminated Make-up Mirror a couple of years ago because the lighting was really bad where I was living at the time. The lighting was so bad that applying makeup was near impossible! It didn’t matter where I went in the house, the lighting wasn’t any better and it also didn’t matter on the time of day either. I can’t count the number of times I’d left the house looking orange because I’d accidentally applied too much foundation or bronzer! Lighting issues can be frustrating and it’s one factor that you can’t always control in your home. Lots of things can affect natural lighting in your property, including the position of your furniture, floor level and even the colour of your decor. Once I purchased this mirror about five years ago, I never had a problem with applying my makeup or tweezing my eyebrows again!

The Boots No7 mirror is double-sided – one side is magnified (20x I think) and the other is a standard mirror. Both sides are illuminated and what is great about this mirror is that it has a dimmer switch so you can choose how bright you want the lighting to be – something many illuminated mirrors do not offer. In addition, it also plugs in at the mains rather than being powered by multiple batteries.

There isn’t all too much to say about this product really, other than that it works extremely well as a standard makeup mirror, as well as an illuminated mirror. I still use the same Boots No7 illuminated mirror on a daily basis now. I haven’t yet had to change the bulb, even though I use it regularly. The lighting where I live now is fantastic and so I don’t always have to use the illuminating feature, but it’s still an excellent makeup mirror and by far the best I’ve ever owned! I love how the mirror rotates 360° so you can position it to where you need when you’re applying your makeup. When applying eye makeup, I like to push the mirror back to gain a more accurate view of my eye area and thus achieve better results.

The mirror retails at around £54 but quite often when Boots has a sale on, the mirror is reduced to about £25. Do be aware that these offers do not last and the mirrors do sell out very quickly. This is such a popular product that has been on shelves for years and so prices rarely come down.

8 Reasons I Love the Boots No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror

1. Perfect Lighting for Flawless Makeup
One of the standout features of the Boots No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror is the lighting. It provides bright yet natural illumination, making it much easier to apply makeup accurately. Unlike some light-up mirrors that give off an odd or artificial glow, this one offers even, authentic light that shows your makeup as it will look in real life.

2. Stylish & Uplevels Your Vanity
Not only is it practical, but it also looks beautiful on a dressing table. The mirror has a clean, minimal design that instantly elevates your vanity without feeling bulky or overly technical. It’s a beauty tool you’re happy to leave out on display.

3. Double-Sided (Standard + Magnified)
The mirror is double-sided, with a standard mirror on one side and a magnified mirror on the other. This is perfect for switching between everyday makeup application and more detailed tasks like brows, eyeliner or skincare — and both sides are illuminated.

4. Adjustable Brightness
With a built-in dimmer switch, you can easily adjust the brightness to suit your space and lighting needs. Whether you’re getting ready in low light or during the day, you can control the intensity for a comfortable and accurate application.

5. 360° Rotation for Flexible Use
The mirror rotates a full 360°, allowing you to position it exactly how you need it. This makes it easy to find the perfect angle, whether you’re sitting at your vanity or standing.

6. Reliable Daily Use & Longevity
I’ve used this mirror daily over a long period of time and it’s held up incredibly well. The bulbs haven’t needed changing, which really speaks to the quality and durability of the mirror.

7. Great Value for the Quality
Considering the design, lighting quality and durability, I genuinely think this mirror is worth the price. It’s especially good value if you manage to pick it up in a sale, making it a smart beauty investment.

8. Available in a Trendy Rose Gold Finish
As well as the classic option, the mirror is also available in a rose gold finish, which adds a modern, on-trend touch and looks stunning on a vanity.

Taking into consideration the quality and performance of this produce, I think it’s well worth the money to have a piece of professional makeup artistry equipment in your home. Overall, I would say this mirror is absolutely fantastic and would highly recommend it! It’s also now available in rose gold too.
